Facial Hair Restoration Update

Recently we have been seeing more male patients with concerns of lack of hair on their face where they normally try to have a full beards or mustache, the hair just will not grow in certain areas. This causes empty areas when they grow some facial hair and it looks patchy. Their option for permanent hair growth is that of a hair restoration. It pretty much follows the same principles of a hair transplantation on the scalp, where hair from the back occipital area is used for harvesting hair grafts and then moved to the area of concern (hairline, temples, top or crown).

Several things to keep in mind when doing facial hair restoration is that the grafts being trimmed might have to be adjusted to the requirements depending on the area being worked on and the caliber of the hairs around the area in order to blend it in. The direction of the hair graft will also have to match the existent hair too. This of course, is a job determined by the one who is performing the incisions or recipient sites. The hair grafts will fall right into place without having to manipulate it much in order to avoid possible damage to the hair follicle within the grafts.

Post-op care is also similar to a scalp hair transplant, which means keeping the area clean and avoiding touching the area avoiding picking the scabs. Gentle care should be given until all scabs have healed and fallen off on their own, which can take 5 to 7 days.

Realistic Optimum Results After Hair Restoration

Even when it seems like there is no repair for your hair loss pattern, as long as the the donor area still realistically adequate, there is a chance to make you look younger and boost your confidence. In this case, the patient pictured above, the hair line had to be re-done and creating an age appropriate hair line is crucial to the results of this procedure. Filling in with single hair grafts along the hair line to give it a natural look and then using the 2 and 3 hair grafts behind the hair line to increase volume is probably the best approach for this type of case. After 2200 FTU's and 11 months, the results are real and permanent. For more information about our services, call us or visit us. www.pilc.com

Scar Repair Hair Restoration African American Female

Hair Transplants, also known as Hair Restoration are very common these days. Many men or women who under go through this procedure don't talk much about it. The results come in gradually and it almost seems as no one realizes exactly what they had done, but they know they look differently, in a good way. This procedure is mainly optional, especially if patients are experiencing some type of hair loss pattern, hair line recesion, crown or top thinnings. The results will forever change these patients lifes and will permanently be confident about themselves. But what happens when patients have a bald area due to an accident, leaving a scar behind with no more hair follicles to grow? These patients have limited options, and perhaps, just one. Scar Repair with Hair Restoration is a very effective procedure, depending where and how large the area of concern is. But it can be very successful with the right plan. The pictures above shows a perfect case for scar repair, right above the right temple near the hairline. These types of procedures are also performed in any area where hair used to be, mainly facial. These procedures are smaller cases thus taking less time in the O.R. Recovery time can be expected to be the same as a regular hair transplantation procedure, which is usually about 5 days post-op. Vitamins for Hair Loss with Natural DHT Blockers

Vitamins are essential for our bodies in order to maintain a balanced healthy life. Some of us do not get our appropriate daily nutrition which is why we rely on vitamins.  Vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants play a mayor role to keep our bodies healthier and our immune system stronger.  We avoid illness and diseases when our body is in good standards and specially if we exercise.  When it comes to hair loss or MPB (male pattern baldness), our options are limited as the main reason for this are genetics.  But fortunately, there are some specific vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and even herbal supplements that could help to avoid or prevent further hair loss.  Most B vitamins are great for hair, as these help to regenerate new and healthy cells, but Biotin is the main B vitamin that will be essential for skin, hair and nails.  Anything that is good for skin will always be good for your nails and hair.  MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), which is a dietary supplement form of sulfur found in our living tissues.  MSM is required for healthy collagen and keratin which are both found in skin, nails and hair.  Research shows that MSM produces faster growing and stronger hair and softer skin.  Green Tea and Grape Seed extract, both are potent anti-oxidants that help to protect the skin and hair follicles from free radical damage.  Saw Palmetto and Pygeum Africanum extract, both are herbal supplements that aids to block DHT (dihydrotestosterone), which is the main cause for hair loss and male pattern baldness.  Dr. Baxa, at Professional Image and Laser Care Med-Spa has developed and formulated a supplement dedicated for individuals who suffer from hair loss or for those who wants to maintain healthy hair and prevent further damage.  Premier Hair Formula is loaded with the essential vitamins and DHT blockers mentioned above and it is recommended to take this supplement along side the medication Propecia (Finasteride).
